Andover has thoughtfully developed a plan to address these failing buildings by applying to and being accepted by the MSBA (Massachusetts School Building Authority) in 2016 for financial assistance with a new school.

All Andover students and teachers are entitled to learn and work in a building that meets their educational needs and ensures their health, safety and security. Unfortunately, these buildings can no longer satisfy these requirements.

Having schools that accommodate 21st century students and learning models will preserve Andover’s reputation for academic excellence.

A new school will accommodate special educational services for a wide-range of disabilities and include appropriate spaces for these programs to be successful. By keeping special needs students in one building from preschool to 5th grade, we will ease their transitions to the next level of learning and help them remain in Andover’s public schools.

Having two “green” schools further enhances Andover as a community committed to greening.

Investing in our schools will enhance Andover’s reputation for academic excellence and positively impact our property values.

A new school will also have many benefits for our community outside the regular school hours.

Our acceptance into the MSBA (Massachusetts School Building Authority) program ensures $38M in reimbursement for this new school!
